My Favorite Creative Summer Activities

Summer is in full swing and as such I have been really feeling my summer creative juices flowing! Today I want to share some of my favorite summer creative activities with you! Whether it’s to help curve boredom, find something new, or just find some creative inspiration!

One of my favorite summer things to do is paint! But I paint year round, so what do I like to paint in the summer? Some of my favorite painting activities are painting birdhouses, rocks, and pour painting! Though I can do these anytime of year, most often you will find me doing these activities in the sunnier months of the year!

I find so much creative inspiration from nature and birdhouses and rocks feel like natural ways to embrace that in the summertime! I love to find themes for my birdhouses, sometimes its only a color scheme, but like this recent birdhouse, I used a sewing theme! And for rocks, my go to is usually fun patterns!

A couple summers ago, one of my aunts got me a pour painting set. Since then, I’ve loved the art of pour painting! But for awhile it was easiest for me to do my pour paintings in the summer, where I can go outside and spread out and just spend awhile doing painting after painting, and can leave them there to dry outside where it is not as likely to rain. Now I’m in a space where I can do that with more room indoors, but pour painting just feels right as a summer activity to me now!

In summer with the sun shining, I love painting outside. Whether it’s a birdhouse, a rock, or maybe a good old fashioned canvas painting, I love feeling the sun while painting! It brings a lot of joy and inspiration to me to create while surrounded by nature! I love the sun, the occasional breeze, the clear skies, even the cloudier ones, flowers, and hearing the world just being alive! It all adds to my painting experience and I love it!

Summer is a beautiful season. For me it is not as beautiful as others, with spring being my favorite. But summer has her own beauty that is so inspiring to me and I love to soak up! Because of that, I always want to capture her beauty! I love to take pictures a lot in the summer! It’s one of the best times for pictures in my opinion, especially of flowers! I don’t use a fancy camera for these photos, I just use my smartphone! With how well cameras on phones are now a days, I feel pretty content without some fancy camera. I can capture beautiful moments in time and I am usually quite happy with them! Smartphones have really come a long way!

Another activity I enjoy a bit more in the summer sun is, bracelet making! I love knotting bracelets almost everywhere I go in summer! It just really is one of those summer crafts! I usually make knotted, or friendship bracelets, but lately I have been playing around with beads too! With everyone attending Taylor Swifts’ Eras Tour, your girl included, I have been very inspired to create bracelets a little extra this summer! And most of those are made with beads, so it inspired me to play around with beads in my own bracelets!

I’m so glad you joined me to learn about my favorite creative activities for summer! No matter what it is, whether small or big, I hope you’ve been getting creative this summer!
