May Adventures(2024)
It’s a bit late for this post but my June was quite busy(stay tuned for that post coming soon!) and so I didn’t get the chance to type up these May adventures for you! So here they are!
With May behind us, summer is upon us! I am looking forward to what creative projects this summer has in store for me, but for now lets see what I got up to in May!
May was a good month for crochet, I mostly created cute goodies like cupcakes and ice cream! I crocheted these cute pink cupcakes at the beginning of the month. I really loved working with this varied pink and white yarn, which is Lion Brand’s Ice Cream yarn! So it seemed perfect for cupcake icing!
I of course had to go mini with these mini cupcakes and I used multiple different varied yarns for these little guys! For both the bigger and mini cupcakes, I created a set that has cherries on top, and a set that doesn’t. What way people can pick their preference. I love them both!
I also created gummy bears this month! I crocheted a handful of different colored mini gummy bears! I really enjoyed them so much, and maybe I’ll make more in even more colors!
I also thought the gummy bears would be cute as earrings! I have been super into creating earrings, so when crocheting mini projects, I have been making even smaller versions for earrings! SO the gummy bears were perfect!
I also crocheted these cute little flower earrings. I love flowers so selfishly I wanted to make them, but I was also looking for earrings projects that take less time, that way I can charge less for them. Money is hard for many right now, and though I of course want to make money with my small buisness and create a career for myself, ultimately I just want to share my projects and the joy they bring me. Crocheting mini projects can be more time consuming than a bigger project. So most of my earrings can be a bit out of the price range of some. So I decided to solve this by making projects like these flower earrings that take way less time that can be a lower price tier, to not only allow more people access to my work but can also make sure I am still paying myself fairly. Both the gummy bear sets and flower sets are on the lower price tier at $7 each on my Etsy site.
In line with finding cute but quicker projects for my shop, I also crocheted these cute mini ice creams! I loved making them, especially with summer on its way! I will be crocheting smaller ones for earrings too! They will also be a part of the lower priced earrings sets! But that will have to be in next month’s adventures .
