January Adventures(2024)

Hello there! I hope 2024 has started off as a good one! For me, it was a busy and creative start to the new year! Hopefully it’s an omen to the rest of my year!

This month, work wise, was a sort of catch up month. It was about getting back to my more regular work routine. I am very thankful to work on my creative buisness full time, and as such I got to spend October through December in 2023 preparing and going to a farmer’s market to sell my creative projects with my mom! But that workflow is very different than my routine I’ve began to form in 2022 when I started my buisness, and was able to further in still when I went full time in July 2023. And so now that market season is over, I can get back to the more day to day work I was doing more before.

So this month I spent a good amount of time finishing projects, both work and personal ones. Because I was so busy at the end of 2023, I didn’t get all the gifts I wanted to finish done for my family and friends.

So this month was about finishing them! I still have a handful more to finish in February, but I got a good amount done such as this Stardew Valley Junimo stuffy I made for one of my friends! I really enjoyed making this guy, especially since I really enjoy playing the game too!

I also crocheted this cat pillow, though it looks it looks more like a bear, for a friend as well. But not everything can come out a masterpiece. But I poured my heart into it. It was still a good learning experience and I’m still happy with the outcome.

I also crocheted another bunny this past month for my baby sister! I really enjoyed crocheting these and I loved the yarn I used for this one! I used Bernet blanket yarn and it ended up so colorful with this colorway! I look forward to making more of these bunnies for my shop!

And the final gift I finished this past month was this cute painted flower pot! I really enjoyed painting this and I am looking forward to possibly painting more! I even added a waterproof glaze that is usually used for clay projects, on this pot so that it can be used for a real plant without feat of ruining the artwork!

This month I continued to make bracelets, both beaded and woven! I made more beaded bracelets as they have been a newer craft I have learned and so it was like having a shiny new toy! So I’ve made many since I first started making bracelets in November!

But I made a few woven ones too, as I love being able to watch a show or movie and just make repeated knot patterns until eventually I make a finished bracelet! In February I’ll have more to make as I want to learn some new patterns! So you can look forward to those!

In January, I finally rolled out my Army Support launch products which included car decals and stickers to support those in the army! I have been working on them for months and it felt so great to finally release them! My favorite thing in this launch was the flag heart stickers I made! Not only can they be in support or those in the army, but of any branch of the military, and of course, just showing our pride from our nation as a whole!

With Valentine’s day coming up, I got really into crocheting hearts in January. I crocheted these cute heart plushies for my shop and I also crocheted mini versions as well! I got really into them so much, I am continuing crocheting heart items into February too! And I’ll probably continue into more of 2024 as this feels like a fun phase!

And finally, I couldn’t start the new year without doing just some fun sketching! Like I mentioned hearts and Valentine’s day lovey dovey vibes are just full filling me lately, and that is seen here in these sketches!

I can’t wait to see how 2024 continues to shift and change creatively for whether through work or through raw creative interest! Happy creating my friends!
