August Adventures (2023)

Hello there! I hope you had a happy August and good end of the final full month of summer! For me, this past month was filled with fun creative adventures.

This month I started a fun and big top secret project! Unfortunately, I won’t be able to share it with you until it has been finished and received by the person receiving it, as it is for a gift. But next month you’ll be able to see all about it! But if you want to see it sooner than then, you can go follow me on Instagram where I will post all about it when I am finally able to share! You can also follow my Facebook page if you aren’t into Instagram and see it there instead! All my content carries over from Instagram to Facebook, however, you’ll get to see some extra content on my Facebook page, like my shop newsletters and these blog posts!

A project that I can share with you that I started this month, is this project! I am designing my own stickers for my shop packages! I am always running out of fragile stickers for my orders and they are usually the red fragile stickers you see everywhere, and I thought, why not make some more with my Cricut?

And if I am making them myself, then why not make them cute? So here is my idea sketches and the traditional line art I finished this month! Now I just need to make the digital artwork and make the Cricut stickers! Next month I can show you the finished product! Or you can of course take a look on my socials!

In August, I got to fill my largest order to date! I made and sent off 7 lanterns in one order! Not only did I put them together, I redesigned half the panels to fit a family celebrating their marine recruit completing their training rather than an army recruit. It was a challenging order but I feel so happy and proud I completed it! I really wanted to get the two side panels with the marine’s logo and the text to be done in vinyl. But for the time I had, I couldn’t make it happen, but I am very thankful to my customer who loved them regardless! And I am very happy to be a part of the support they show their marine!

This month, I really got the itch to draw, so I filled a couple pages with sketches and line art just for fun! I even started working on coloring of those artworks! Next month you’ll see the finished result! I know, many cliff hangers this month, but I promise it will be worth it!

Along with creating my own artwork, I also colored the artwork of another! I spent time in my favorite coloring book called Garden of Fairytale Animals by Kanoko Egusa! I finished two pages this month, and started three more! There was a lot of coloring done this month and it felt so nice.

I most often colored while watching YouTube, mostly true crime, or by listening to an audiobook. This past month I listened/read Little Women by Louisa May Alcott! These pages really added to the beautiful and romantic feeling I had while experiencing this book!

And last but not least, I definitely can’t go a month without crochet! My crochet projects this August consisted of my beloved coasters and pumpkins! I have at least one market coming up every month until the end of the year, so I have been getting my crochet projects lining up and gearing up! I am so excited to have official pumpkin season coming upon us! Though personally, I think pumpkin decor should be for year round!

I hope you had a creative summer and I hope you have some creative fun lined up for fall! And if you didn’t before, I hope I was able to give you some inspiration! If you want to keep up with my art adventures, you can follow my Instagram or Facebook page! You can also give my account on Pinterest a look if you are looking for my adventures or some inspo!
